You give them a project and then let them manage it on their own! All that was needed was a moderator board and kit, a short induction on how to use it and what we planned in the floristic project. And off they went.
In 30 minutes children planned the flower designs that they wanted to create, allocated available resources and made a plan of what they could collect from our forest to complete their creations.
Kids seem to have an innate creativity and ability to sort things logically. All they seem to need is an adult next to them to accompany them in their endeavours. Last summer the kids discovered the Solar system and learned a lot of interesting facts about its makeup! At our reunion, we decided to brush up on our knowledge and reconstruct the Solar system.
Due to obvious safety concerns, we didn’t use rocks or gas as planet building materials, but chose colourful rubber bands, styrofoam balls, dried orange slices, and, of course, apples!

This weekend just gone we had our Reunion Summercamp and one of our favourite activities was – Brussel Sprouts Forever.
We may like or dislike eating Brussel sprouts. But we enjoyed finding out how they grow (thank you Farmer Huschke)…

Christmas and the weeks before it is a special time at Germany For Kids. Snow, ice-skating and crisp frosty air outside, hot drinks and cozy atmosphere inside Schloss Leizen. At this time our creative sessions turn towards encouraging the children to produce individual and unique seasonal decorations to take home as gifts.
